So, we're finishing up the 1 month BackerKit period tomorrow. We'll be charging the few of you who use credit cards for add-ons on the 20th. If you haven't filled out your BackerKit survey, you can go here: https://hyperlanes-cinematic-scifi-for-dnd-5e.backerkit.com/
We've been pleased with how smooth the BackerKit process has been and with how professional and helpful their staff have been. This is our first Kickstarter using the service and it seems to be really helpful in making sure people can grab up all the little added things they need to play the game.
Work on the HYPERLANES corebook is coming along. We have first and second drafts on most of the book, with content editing almost finished and copy editing underway. Our internal soft deadline for most things is March 15, as that will be the week we do assembly because Katherine will be on spring break and can give us their undivided attention. During that period I (Ryan) will be doing layout for all the card decks.
We're still working on vehicles systems and superscience items, but we've pretty much finished the NPCs and monsters section which has a lot to do with how vehicles work, so that will be done soon. Things are really coming together. Gambits are not totally finalized, as vehicles rules play into the Engineering and Vehicles schools, but we're getting close.
Art is coming along and we're already starting to see some fun portraits. Once I get a few of those together from Avery I'll likely do an update to let you see how it's coming.
Our hope at this point is to get the proofs ordered from DriveThruRPG for us to look at by the end of March. When we do that we'll also send out digital copies of the corebook to backers. If all goes well we'll have DriveThru send out the corebooks and decks a couple weeks later.
After that things are going to happen real fast. We'll be putting out stretch goal books at a very quick rate from then on until about the end of June. We're thinking that our last couple books may need a little bit of wiggle room for development right at the end, but for now we're hoping to hit our June estimated delivery time for all books.
Things are going well so far! We'll keep you updated as we get closer.
